The Center of Excellence in MCAH hosts a variety of continuing education activities to build skills for MCAH professionals.

Implementing a Life Course Perspective in Practice--Examples of Early & Critical Period Interventions from the Field
These two webinars were built from our Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Life Course Perspective, Practice, & Leadership online training series. They discussed the importance of early and critical periods in the life course and how interventions at these sensitive times can vastly improve health trajectories. Each webinar included a partner organization featured in the training module: "Early Programming and Cumulative Exposure to Risk and Protective Factors across the Lifespan: Opportunities for Intervention".
Fair Oaks Health Center within San Mateo Medical Center is a primary care clinic for many children and families in San Mateo County. The clinic created, piloted and evaluated a unique parent and child coaching program to support school readiness of 3- 5 year olds through strategic and collaborative community partnerships.

"A Fair Shot": Michael C. Lu, MD, MS, MPH, presents at UC Berkeley School of Public Health
On October 26, 2018, The Center of Excellence in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health welcomed Dr. Michael Lu for a presentation, "A Fair Shot", about his path to becoming a leader in public health. Dr. Lu is former Director of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and is currently Senior Associate Dean for Academic, Student & Faculty Affairs at Miliken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University. He is a UC Berkeley School of Public Health Alumni.
