Professor Emerita Cheri Pies wins 2018 Alumna of the Year

Each year since 1978, a graduate of the School of Public Health has received the Alumnus or Alumna of the Year Award. The honoree is selected based on his or her outstanding contributions to the field of public health and because he or she exemplifies those inspirational achievements and qualities to which this graduating class can aspire.   This year's honoree was MCH Professor Emerita Cheri Pies.    


Cheri received her MSW from Boston University in 1976. She earned her MPH (1985) and DrPH (1993) from the University of California at Berkeley.  Cherihas dedicated her career to integrating the life course perspective and an understanding of the social determinants of health into maternal and child health practice.  To read more about her work, click here.
